The farm was built around 1700 and made from marlstone, which is a type of building stone recovered in the south of Limburg. Many houses in Valkenburg are built from this type of stone, that is why Valkenburg is often called the ‘Marlstonecity’. In the caves you will see how the marlstone was quarried. Nowadays they only get the stone from Marlstone quarries.

In the past it was a joined company, but since long the farm as been used has a house. Inside the farm you can still clearly see the workmanship, with all the trusses and thick wooden beams.

‘De Kunstloft’ is located at the back of the farm. It has its own entrance in the yard, with a lot of privacy. Here you live and sleep in between the art. A beautiful location, next to a trail, just about 2 km outside the fortified town of Valkenburg.

The entrance is at the backside of the farm, with a nice place to sit. From here you can also go to the large garden, with a ‘Jeu de Boules’ alley.

When you enter the loft, you will find yourself in the garden/lounge/tv-room. This used to be the place where the cows were stabled. Both the floor and the couches are original. Here too, you can clearly see the workmanship. The large woodstove adds a nice ambience to it.
